- The waves and the sea Am I the rising and falling wave or the ocean?
- One living self and infinite dead selves I change every day, mentally and physically, to some minute degree. Yesterday’s version of me disappeared, never to be seen again, as good as dead. My only living self is the one pulsing with life, at this very moment. There were countless dead versions of me. Who should I focus on? My countless dead selves or the ever changing living self?
- Androcles and the lion The hungry lion released from the cage comes running towards Androcles but instead of killing him, it meekly licks his foot!
- We do not see the first parts of people’s lives The ball bouncing from the wall hits my head. How can a wall throw a ball at me? What magic is going on here?
- He insulted me! My pen becomes your pen only when you stretch your hand, receive it, grasp it and put in your pocket.
- The walker who laughed at A, B and C He had a bug in his head.
- The blamer is hit with the blame bug Don’t let him infect you with his bug!
- I hated the garbage and I stopped There is no reason to hate the stinking garbage dump. It is in its nature to stink. Else it won’t be called garbage.
- Message or the messenger? A sufi teacher (mystic in Islam) was pointing at the moon with his crooked index finger, bent due to arthritis. He was asking his student to look at the beautiful full moon. The student was focusing on the crooked finger, not the moon.
- The corporate monkey: Don’t abort the process if you want the results.
- The frog who jumped out and escaped being cooked Our current habits are like that frog. We have to cook them (change them) very slowly, in small degrees. Any sudden or major change will alert them and make them escape any change, by finding all possible excuses against the change.
- It is only a little! How an earth bound helium balloon quickly floated to the ceiling when I cut just a little bit of the long thread holding it down.
- It happened suddenly I moved the paper weight a little towards the edge of the table. Nothing happened. A little more and nothing happened. After a series of such small movements it suddenly fell down on the floor with a thud.
- A lifeless plant gets a grand new life The plant had all the ingredients needed for growth, but they were all locked up.
- Do you want to be a ball or a player? The player and ball are both moving busily in the soccer field but with a big difference.
- In a winning team, all the players surrender their individuality Think of a cake in which the sugar refuses to change its crystalline form.
- Focus on the goal or the process? Your goal in the morning is to reach your office. Can you focus on your office building, from your home parking lot? No. What then you do, to reach your office every day?
