Relief from ‘Grief’

Let me know your own experience with this practice. It will be posted without your name.

  • Grandmother’s death: One teen aged boy was living with his single mother and grand mother. He was very fond of his grand mother who gave him his favorite dishes and pocket money. She died due to illness in old age. The boy got terribly upset by her absence and started neglecting his studies. When his mother put too mush pressure on him about his studies he tried to injure himself with a broken Coke bottle. His mother shared the problem with me with great concern. On my suggestion, she stopped putting pressure on him and made him practice the method before going to sleep. She reported lot of improvement in her son in about 3 months. He became very positive to her advices and took up a career of a musician with his talent for playing guitar and singing.
  • Daughter’s death: A patient of my daughter Padma Sripada M.D said to her “The ‘Focusing on breathing’ technique has helped me tremendously. Seven years ago I lost my daughter and I went into a deep depression and chronic anxiety, in spite of medications. I started to use the breathing technique and I got to say they were very helpful. For the first time in 7 years I feel my depression has lifted. ”
