* A pragmatic strategy to control the mind

Feedback from a Rheumatologist who attended a few of my classes (1). Subsequently his wife and two daughters also attended a few of my classes.

“Meeting Mr. Suryanarayana was more than a sheer coincidence (2). I called him hoping for ‘Srimadbhagavadgeeta’  (Geeta in short) sessions, just to realize that he had come up with a very easy, yet pragmatic strategy to control the mind (one of the major aspects of Geeta) (3).

I have benefited from this technique and continue to hope for ongoing experiences (4). Focusing on breath using the ‘tip mode’ and ‘counting mode’ has been very beneficial to calm the mind (5), (6). My sleep quality has improved phenomenally and so has the ability to reduce the impact of the stressors of day to day life. Both our children have learnt the technique from him and hopefully will continue to reap the benefits. They are realizing their inner strength every day through constant practice. We are even hoping that Mr. Suryanarayana will teach this technique to my younger sister, who is deaf; and her daughter (both visiting us from India) so that they can improve their quality of life even back home. I would very strongly recommend this simple and effective technique to anybody and everybody. Thanks to Mr. Suryanarayana for being a catalyst in our evolution!”

(2) His contact with me is a classic example of the spiritual quotation “When the student is ready, the teacher appears”. In this case I appeared apparently by mistake! One day I got a call from him when he was a stranger to me and also a newcomer to Albany.  He asked for classes on  Geeta being held at the Albany Hindu Temple since long. I said he got the wrong number  and asked him to see the correct number for that class in the temple website. I also told him briefly the kind of classes I offer at the temple. I tried to close our dialogue quickly. But he persisted and asked about my classes, liked them and registered for the classes. He liked them and also brought his wife and two daughters to my classes.
